White Bloom On Paving
Although similar in appearance to efflorescence at first glance, White Bloom affect mainly
slate paving, manifested by a series or white spots as the result of calcium carbonate (CcCO3)
deposits within the slate coming to the surface.
It is a natural phenomenon that will disappear after a while with the effects of weathering, and
will not harm the paving. It may be removed by a stiff broom, or a non-acid product especially
formulated to remove the effects. These are sold as Limescale removers in liquid or gel forms.
